Qiddiya and Rotana Release “Ya Tuwaiq” Song & Video Clip to Commemorate Saudi National Day

Riyadh, September 17, 2019: Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC), the entity leading the development of Qiddiya – the Kingdom’s capital for entertainment, sports and arts – partnered with Rotana to launch a re-engineered and remastered version of their “Ya Tuwaiq” song, with a special video clip, to commemorate Saudi National Day’s 89th celebration.

The track was first performed during Qiddiya’s ground-breaking ceremony in the presence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Board of Directors of QIC, announcing the start of work at Qiddiya.

The song was gifted to Qiddiya by the Badr Bin Abdulmohsin Cultural Foundation which was established to engage and support cultural initiatives focusing on the creative arts and the cultural history of the Kingdom. It was written by the organisation’s founder, HRH Prince Badr bin Abdulmohsin and composed by the renowned William Ross.

Ayed Yousef, an up and coming young Saudi singer was spotlighted by Qiddiya as a budding talent and rising star, who was selected to perform the song, which celebrates the diversity and potential of Saudi talent. The performance quickly went viral across social media platforms after the ceremony, but it was never officially released.

Michael Reininger, CEO of QIC commented, “Qiddiya is about giving Saudi talent new opportunities and providing facilities and programmes to enable artists of all kinds to follow their dreams. There is no better time to celebrate this honorable mission than during Saudi National Day. We wish Ayed every success and we thank HRH Prince Badr bin Adbulmohsin for this special gift and hope you enjoy listening to it again and again.”

Ayed Yousef expressed his excitement to work with Qiddiya saying: "The Ya Tuwaiq song holds a dear place in my heart, as it gave me the chance to perform in front of the His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince for the first time. Like other Saudi youth, I look forward to seeing Qiddiya come to life and support young artists by providing us with a platform through which we can develop our talents - learn, practice, collaborate and perform. I would like to extend my congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and all Saudis on the occasion of the 89th Saudi National Day”.

The re-launch is also linked with the launch of Qiddiya’s own YouTube channel where the video clip of the “Ya Tuwaiq” song can exclusively be viewed. The video will also be distributed via Rotana music platforms and various channels during the National Day celebrations.

Qiddiya will offer several multi-purpose, cutting-edge performance venues capable of hosting multiple events in parallel, along with learning and development facilities. This means that Qiddiya will not only be a destination for performances by world-renowned stars, but rising Saudi talent will also be invited to develop their skills with the help of experts on staff and showcase their growth on Qiddiya’s many stages.

Qiddiya will provide world-class entertainment, sports and arts options inside the Kingdom, allowing the domestic economy to recapture a market share of the $10 billion spent annually by Saudis on entertainment and leisure outside the country.

Located only 45 kilometers from downtown Riyadh, the Saudi capital, Qiddiya has five cornerstones that frame content, offerings and the overall development strategy for the project: Parks & Attractions; Sports & Wellness; Motion & Mobility; Arts & Culture and Nature & Environment.
