Misk-Qiddiya's First-Ever Internship Program Successfully Concludes
12 Saudi students were shortlisted and mentored by Qiddiya
Riyadh, KSA, 29 September 2019: The MiSK-Qiddiya Internship Program – Qiddiya Investment Company’s (QIC) inaugural 10-week summer internship program, in conjunction with the Mohammad bin Salman Foundation (MiSK) – successfully concluded.
Twelve local students were shortlisted to be part of the comprehensive learning program to work alongside industry professionals, and were individually mentored by Qiddiya’s Executive Directors, renowned experts in their fields.
“Qiddiya aims to empower the next generation of Saudi leaders, and during the engaging program, our interns portrayed immense diligence, commitment and potential. They had the opportunity to explore new possibilities, learn from industry leaders, and receive invaluable career experience in the creative, hospitality and entertainment realms,” said Qiddiya’s CEO, Mike Reininger.
The program was designed to teach students – who were placed across various departments at Qiddiya – key practical and transferable skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, analysis and collaboration.
During the last six weeks of the internship, each intern was assigned a project by their mentor, and a winner was selected by a judging panel comprising department heads from Qiddiya and MiSK. Safa Almunaidi, an intern in Sustainability Development, won the title based on a thoroughly researched and sound business proposition.
Collaborating with a Giga-project like Qiddiya, MiSK is able to achieve its goal of enabling Saudi youth to learn, develop and progress as individuals across a myriad of fields. Over the coming weeks, the two entities will share the achievements of these interns, and encourage them to take creative initiatives, and thus play an active role in the development of our society.
The MiSK-Qididya internship program will set the foundation for many more youth development programs to come in the future.
